The Festival ATD is responsible for assisting in troubleshooting and refurbishment of all scenery & properties on the New Haven Green. The Festival ATD will help supervise local IATSE crews of riggers, carpenters, technicians, and heavy equipment operators. The Festival ATD will help respond to any installation issues in real time.



  • Help deploy all scenic and rental elements to their predetermined place.
  • Supervise IATSE crew installation of myriad elements as needed.
  • Supervise/assist Operations crew as needed.
  • Build any carpentry elements as needed.
  • Set up shop space with tools/tables from our storage.
  • Organize IFAI tools and hardware.
  • Strike and store all elements in an orderly fashion to allow easy access to all elements.



  • Prior experience in theatrical production required.
  • Must have good organizational and people skills.
  • A strong understanding of carpentry, scenic construction and staging systems.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to safest working practices.
  • Use of Office Suite and associated Web Apps.
  • Outdoor production experience preferred.
